Staying true to its philosophy of 'RISE', Mahindra Truck and Bus has introduced Saarthi Abhiyaan to turn the spotlight on the Indian truck driver community. This unique CSR project not only supports truck drivers but their families too. The first phase of Saarthi Abhiyaan was launched with a popular and heart-warming scholarship programme for the daughters of truck drivers. Scholarships worth Rs. 10,000 were awarded to meritorious applicants who completed 10th standard and are pursuing further education. This initiative was our way to salute all those truck drivers who educated their daughters despite the odds. But this is just a beginning. With Saarthi Abhiyaan we'll continue this journey to show truck drivers that we care.

Outperform. It is a philosophy that is driving Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. into a new era. An era that'll help Indian transport scale new heights of excellence. In keeping with this philosophy, we instituted the Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards. These awards are meant for those who have contributed towards bringing change to Indian trucking, and they recognise and reward Outperformance, Excellence, Innovation and Change Leadership. It is a forum to showcase excellence and outperformance throughout the year, and also set the standards that will inspire the entire industry.

Mahindra Truck and Bus aims to be an agent of positive change by encouraging youth to join the transport industry and thereafter, by empowering them.

To meet these objectives, we have designed and pioneered a program called ‘MPOWER’, a management development program for Youth Transport Entrepreneurs. To make sure that they are well prepared for the competitive industry and deliver excellence at the same time, we have formed a partnership with Knowledge Partners who have the reputation of being the very best in their respective areas - Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Indian Maritime University (IMU) and Anantara Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

This is a collective learning programme specially designed to empower the mentors of the Indian Trucking Industry. It offers industry veterans a platform to share their views on transport with other fleet owners, seasoned professionals and also Interact with the IIM--A Faculty to discuss and guide the next generation of transporters.

They say that learning isn't complete till it is actually applied. That’s exactly the idea behind the MPOWER WAR ROOM. Through this programme, participants can present how they have applied their MPOWER learning and advanced their family transport businesses. The programme also gives participants an opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and build deeper ties with one another. Also conducted in association with IIM·A. The WAR ROOM has seen three editions and nearly 66 participants.

This is a one-of-Its-kind initiative that presents customers a unique tour of Mahindra's state-Of-the-art Chakan plant. So they can see the entire truck manufacturing process, the technology and quality control that goes into making Mahindra's truck & the outperforming machines that they truly are.
